Tim Carmichael

Studies and Backround: Tim is a professional electric and acoustic upright bassists from Colorado. Starting at the age of 15 he has played now in Colorado for almost 20 years. Tim studied at the University of Colorado in Boulder and Metropolitan State College of Denver with a focus on classical and jazz studies.

Influences: Jimmy Haslip (Yellowjackets) Jaco Pastorious, Kai Eckhart (Garaj Mahal), Matt Garrison, Richard Bona, Scott Colley and Paul Chambers.

Current and Past Projects: Shock Rock Orchestra, Eric Lane Trio, Ryan Conway trio, Rich Charlussi, Melanie Susuras Band, The Spin R&B Group, Usual Suspects Jazz Degenerates, Rain Box,The Atomic Brass Project, Steve Glotzer Duo, and many others.

Currently Tim can be Heard with: CSpotGroove, Funk Shui, Graphite Addiction, The Ryan Elwood Trio.

Articles: Tim was included in a article for “Global Bass Magazine” that discussed doulbling on Acoustic and Electric Bass. This article with Ron Carter on the cover can be found on line.
